Hello all, I need help with using voice over with garage band. Basically what I am trying to do is record through my mixer which already works fine, but i need to be able to add effects and such, but i can't quite make sense out of the layout of the garage band interface. I'm kind of VO arrowing randomly around. Can someone please point me towards a good tutorial or help me one on one with this issue?

R your buttons labeled? I tried it out once, bt mine weren't so i gave it up.

The buttons are labeled just fine I just don't know what is what and where to go to do certain things. I have messed with it in Tiger, however Those buttons weren't labeled, but I actually got al the sounds to work, Also, I could have been in a different recording mode.

I am not sure exactly what is in the guide but hopefully what you are looking for is there. I have not used garage band personally although did have a look and was pleased to see what did work. I do have Skyp and if you would like to work out a time for contact we can do that. Monday or wednesday evening at about 8:30 PM eastern standard would work for me. Let me know. My info is in my profile. Thanks.

Sounds good. You should be able to interact with anything by pressing control-option-shift-downarrow

no some things don't let you for whatever reason. Also willie, have you heard of voiceover crashing and automatically relaunching. I'm having an issue where in open office crashes voiceover then relaunches it again. I had this same issue once in apple mail when arrowing through a list of emails in my inbox. When I came to a subjet voiceover kept crashing and relaunching. Do you know if there is something taht is like the sapi virus thing that will crash voiceover or a word like anti [c a e s u]re? I'm having an issue when I make tracks in garage band it coes out ok but then like a few minutes after that file plays each part plays. I can't figure out how to edit that crap out.

Cody, I'm having the same problem, but with me its with adium. I was doing anything, but the mac was just sitting their, because I had a walkthrough for a game I was playing open in text edit, and then I heard "voice over on". It did it about 3 more times.

spike seems to do it in adium however adium s fine for me. I've only had it done once in mail, and always in open office. to where ooo is not useable.

I'll elaborate for post 12.
In my version of Adium, voice over doesn't crash if I'm in the middle of a conversation, or a conversation.
It does however crash and restart if I command+slash to go to or am in the contact list.

I have just tried command with slash and it does not crash my version of voiceover or adium. Just as responsive as always. There have been no new updates as of 05/20/2008.

Wow, very interesting. I have seen voiceover reset itself and really don't know what is causing this. I have heard of some words causing a crash but not many at all. I know that crash logs are generated but unfortunately, don't know where they are placed. Geeks! find them please!!! I haven't seen any openoffice updates yet either but hopefully they are working on things. It's may and they are targeting september so there is some time.

Can you specify if you remember what some of those words are, so taht we can verify they indeed do crash voiceover
